Shopping Trip at Office Max

Hope you've all had a great shopping trip or two this past week.  As for me - I was able to run into Publix and pick up one item for supper - remember I told you not to do that at the coupon workshop - I'm bad!  Now that I'm "retired" I really don't know how I found the time to work a real job.  Seriously, where does the time go?  I also paid full price for my item today - hate that!

Sunday's Paper inserts should include 1 P&G, 1 SmartSource and 2 Red Plum booklets!  If you buy your papers at a store make sure all your coupon inserts are in there before you leave.  You will be glad you checked, believe me.

I was able to "steal" a deal at Office Max today.  I've been trying to get up there for the past three days and had to go today because it was the last day of the sale.  I picked up 6 packs of 100 sheets of filler paper which was .20 cents each and also BOGO!  600 sheets of paper for .60 cents.  Also I picked up 5 spiral notebooks for .20 cents each and 2 packs of pens at .20 cents each.  Total including tax was $2.46!!!

Be on the lookout for this flyer - should be in our SmartSource insert tomorrow:

Healthy Choice and Orville Redenbacher’s Publix Store Coupons in Sunday’s (7/31) SS Insert

The coupon sheet also references a store display that we should find at our Publix locations.  The display will have a “rebate” form where when we buy $30.00 in Publix groceries in one shopping trip with $15.00 in participating ConAgra Foods brands, we will receive a FREE $10.00 Publix or Amazon.com gift card!

Here is an easy no fuss deal at Walgreen's just to get your feet wet - some of you may need this for your kids school supply list.  Don't worry about any rules or regulations on this one - just go early in the week to make sure they're not all gone - this will go fast I'm sure.

While you're in Walgreens be sure to pick up their August Coupon Books - get at least two if not more.

FREE Crayola Washable Markers @Walgreens (Starts 7/31)

Jul 30, 2011 01:15 pm

Starting on 7/31 Walgreens will have Crayola Washable Markers for $2 with a $2 Register Reward making them FREE after Register Rewards!

Crayola Washable Markers, $2
Buy 1, Get $2 in Register Rewards
FREE after Coupon!

You will pay $2 plus tax OOP but get a $2 RR back after paying = FREE. Now for fun - if you go Sunday/Monday - buy another Sunday paper with the $2 RR and you've got more COUPONS! Just an idea! You can do this deal over and over if you want - you just have to do them in separate transactions.

Okay, let's do one more deal while you're there.

Coffee Mate Liquid, 16 oz $1.50
Use 2 $0.55/1 – Coffee Mate Liquid or Powder – (coffee-mate.com)

Or $0.75/2 – Coffee Mate Liquid or Powder – (coffee-mate.com)
And Use $1.00/2 Coffee-mate, 16 oz from Walgreens August Booklet.

Final Price:  As low as $0.45 each when you buy 2

Remember the $2 RR you received in the first deal -- try this:
Buy 4 Coffee Mates and use 4 of the .55/1 coupons that you print from the link above - use two different printers - and use 2 of the $1/2 Walgreens August coupons (need 2 books) = $1.80 cents for 4 - grab a filler item (find a cheap school supply item) - pay with your $2 RRs and your Coffee Mate should be FREE!!

That should give you just a taste of what waits for you at Walgreen's - we will do another class very soon just on shopping at Walgreen's and CVS.  I will let you know when that class will be as soon as I set a date.  You don't want to miss this class!

Well, that's enough from me for one week.  Hope you're enjoying my posts.  I've got more things planned for this blog as time goes on.  Please go to my blog and sign up as a follower.   I need to know I'm not just talking to myself on these pages.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Until later,
Happy Shopping

Four Coupon Inserts in Sunday's Paper, July 31st, 2011

Hope you've had a good week shopping and finding those great deals.  I still haven't made it to the grocery store this week - once again I will have to go on Saturday - why do I do this to myself?

Be sure to get your two papers this Sunday - 4 inserts this week:  1 SmartSource, 1 RedPlum, and 2 Proctor and Gamble.  If you purchase them in a store, check them before you leave to make sure all the inserts are in there - it's very frustrating to get all the way home only to find all your inserts are gone - believe me, I've experienced this many times.  If you need to get your discounted papers, let me know and I can get you connected to Chris.

Don't Stop Collecting Those Coupons!

After a short weekend away without Internet access - wow, what did we ever do without it - I am back with more deals for you.

First, don't stop collecting all the coupons you can get your hands on.  The last couple of weeks have been slim pickings, as far as I'm concerned, when it comes to the deals in the stores.  However, there are still some good deals around this week.

If you received your redplum.com in the mail today, there is a $5 off your purchase of $30 or more coupon on the back of "Back To School Sale" small booklet from Publix - there is also a large booklet from Publix called Family Style.  When you are checking out be sure to use the $5 off $30 coupon first before you hand all your coupons to the cashier.  These coupons don't come all the time but when they do we love them.

For the new couponers go to http://www.redplum.com/CouponBook.aspx to sign up for this mailer.  This is not the same as the RedPlum you get in your Sunday papers, but sometimes it has some good stuff for us.  You will receive it once a week, I usually get them on Tuesdays.

The deals I'm passing along to you today are taken from various websites I frequent.

Hopefully you can get this deal this week at Walgreens.  This post from another site says you can get the Gain powder also - so look carefully and don't be afraid to ask an employee to do a price check to make sure.  I'm not sure what date you started getting your papers, but maybe you'll have the coupon that goes with this sale:

Cheap Gain Powder at Walgreens!

You can grab a GREAT deal on Gain at Walgreens this week! The Gain Original powder 40 load is included in the $4.99 sale. I know the ad just shows the liquid however the powder is ringing up $4.99 and some stores have signs. If your store has no signs up, have them do a price check for you. You can then use the $2/1 coupon to grab these for $2.99 each.

***DEAL IDEA***
Buy (1) Gain 40 load Original $4.99
-$2/1 Tide or Gain Powder Detergent, any – 07-17-11 SS x8/31
= $2.99 EACH

Here is another "sweet" deal at Walgreens:

M&M’s As Low As $.07 at Walgreens

Buy (3) M&M’s $.49 EACH

Unfortunately I did not receive the coupon for the next deal, but you may have so I wanted to pass this along to you.  Remember, coupons are regional so what one area gets you may not get.  I really wanted this one too.

If you got the Trident Gum coupons in your insert you can get an awesome deal on the Trident Vitality at Walgreens! These were tagged as $.79 each thru 7/30 at my store. If you find the same price at your store you can grab them for just $.12 each!

***DEAL IDEA***
Buy (3) Trident Vitality Gum $.79 EACH
Total = $2.37
-$2/1 Trident Gum, any 3 single packs – 07-24-11 SS
Total =$.12 EACH!

Always be on the lookout for CLEARANCE sales!  You can get items for just pennies if not free.  What is on clearance at one store may not be on clearance at another store.  This is one of those YMMV things (your mileage may vary).  This next deal includes links to Glade coupons you can print.  Good Luck!

I ran into Walgreens in-between errands today and look at what I found! A TON of clearance on Glade products! Perfect to go with the Glade coupons I posted this morning. I found candles for as low as $1.69 and Glade Plug-Ins for as low as $1.79!
I suggest printing out the coupons and checking your store for Glade clearance because I have a feeling this one is pretty widespread and you may even find better deals at your store.  If you find the same here are some ideas…

Total = $3.58
$1/1 Glade Plugins Scented Oil twin refill or 2 Single Refills

Buy (2) Glade Candles $1.69 each
Total = $3.38
-75¢/2 Glade 4oz Jar Candles
$1.31 EACH
Buy (1) Glade Glass Candle Holder $2.69

= $1.69 EACH
OTHER GLADE COUPONS

55¢/1 Glade Premium Room Spray
$1/1 Glade Fabric & Air Odor Eliminator Product
$1/2 Glade Scented Oil Candle Refill Packs

If you go to www.iheartpublix.com you can see a sneak peek at next week's sales.  That gives you time to plan your shopping trip and get your coupons matched up to the BOGOs.

Please leave a comment and let me know how you are doing on your shopping trips.  I've heard some great stories over the past couple of days from some of you and I would love for you to share them on the blog.

Also I'm out there looking for deals all the time, so if you find a great sale be sure to pass it along to the group.  Until later........

Happy Shopping!

One Of My Favorite Sites

I've received a lot of positive feedback about the coupon workshop, and I'm so glad that you enjoyed it and you're beginning to work on collecting your coupons and getting them organized so they will begin to work for you.  This really becomes a hobby that pays off big time.

I wanted to share with you a favorite site that I frequent and I know once you understand how Target works you will like it too.  You can stack a Target store coupon with a manufacturer coupon at Target just like Publix - they do not take competitors coupons.  You can make overages at Target but they won't give you cash back, so if your coupon value is higher than the item you're purchasing you want to purchase something else with that overage.  You will catch on to this as time goes on - this is a learning process and you will get better each time you shop.

Now on to the site - www.totallytarget.com.  Go check it out and click all the buttons and you will be amazed at what you can save there.  One thing you have to really pay attention to is when you're checking out and you're giving them your coupons, give them to the cashier one at a time - sometimes they want them all up front - but as they're taking the coupons make sure your correct coupon amount shows up.  I do this even at Publix.  Most of the time everything works out good, but sometimes there is a glitch - just smile and be nice and they will treat you right.

To print Target coupons go to www.target.com and scroll down and you will see on the left side a shopping cart and it says coupon savings - click on that and it will take you to all the coupons.  Printing is easy and you normally can print them twice - but you have to click on the "back to coupons" button and go in and select the coupons you want to print again.  Sometimes you may not get to print twice and that's because they may only allow 1,000 prints for a certain coupon and if you're the 1000th person to print that coupon then when you go back to print it again it will have disappeared from the selections.  It took me a long time to figure that out, I thought I was doing something wrong.

One thing I want to bring to your attention off of today's posting at TotallyTarget is the coupon for $3/1 Glade Lasting Impression product.  When you click on the blue link it takes you to a site named Right at Home and asks you to sign up for the coupon.  Don't be afraid to sign up here - this is a site that sends you all kinds of things for signing up.  I've received free products, tons of coupons, free samples, etc.  You never know when they're coming, they just show up in the mail.  Sometimes it's coupons for free products.  So sign up and watch for goodies to start coming to you.  By the way, save the coupon - we normally have great sales and can get these starter kits almost free.  So print the coupons, hold on to them for the sales.  That's the way you play this game.

One more thing and I'll sign off for tonight.  There should be two coupon inserts in this Sunday's paper - SmartSource and RedPlum.  Hope you've got at least two papers coming for those BOGO sales!  Let me know if you still need discounted newspapers and I will have Chris get in touch with you.

Happy Shopping!

Give It A Try

Now it's your turn to try a couple great deals at Publix.  These deals will start on Thursday, July 21, 2011 - so print the coupons and go shopping.

Publix deals starting 7/21/11

Scotch Scissors 5″, BOGO $1.99
-$1/1 Scotch Scissors Target.com (exp 8/5/2011)

This is how it works:
Click on the blue coupon link and print - will only be able to print 2 per printer)
Go to this link:   http://www.3m.com/brands/scotch/promos/welcomecoupon.pdf
That will come up as a pdf file  (I talked about this last night - you can print as many as you want of these - these are manufacturer coupons.)  Remember  - you can stack one Store Coupon with one Manufacturer Coupon on one item at Publix.    If you are able to print the Target coupon and stack you will make money.)

Buy 2 at $1.99 (BOGO $1.99)
Use 2 $1/1 MFQ = 2 for free plus .01 cent overage.
If you print 2 of the TQ (Target Coupons) and stack with 2 $1/1 MFQ  = you get two free plus an overage of $2.01!

-$1/2 Quaker Chewy Granola Bars TARGET coupon Target.com (exp 8/2/2011)

 This is how it works:
Click on the blue coupon link and print coupon.
This is a Target In Store Coupon - Publix accepts these.
Buy 2 Quaker Granola Bars - on sale BOGO (buy on get one free)
Use one coupon ($1/2 coupon you just printed) on the BOGO
Total OOP (out of pocket) is $1.99 for the two = $1 each
This is not free but your savings is 67%!

You should be able to print 2 coupons if you want to do the BOGO deal twice.

Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice 4.4 to 5.5 oz, 3/$4
-
$0.75/1 Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice Product Rolling
-
$0.75/1 Uncle Ben’s Whole Grain White Rice Product Rolling

 This is how it works:

Click on the red coupon link - it will take you to Facebook.  (If you don't have a Facebook account you need to create one - lots of printable coupons are through Facebook)
Sign in to Facebook and it will take you to the Uncle Ben's page.
Click on "Like" then go over to the left side and click coupons.
Print coupon - go up to the top left and hit the back arrow button-
Click on the resend button - it will print again.

The price is 3 for $4.00 - you do not have to buy all three.
Buy 1 ($1.33 each)
Use one $.75/1 (printed coupon)
OOP - .58 cents a box -
This is a 56% savings.   These are on BOGO a lot and that's when I buy them.  This is an okay deal if you need rice this week.

One last deal today:

Eight O’Clock Coffee 11 to 12 oz (excluding whole bean decaf), BOGO $6.99
-$0.75/1 Eight O’Clock Coffee All You, Jul 2011 (exp 9/30/2011)

-$2/2 Eight O’Clock Coffee Rolling

Click on the red coupon link.  It takes you to Eight O'Clock Coffee website.  On the top right there is a $2 coupon button.  It takes you to a sign in box - fill it out and if you don't want emails from them unclick the check mark.  After you fill it out submit it and it takes you to SmartSource printing page.  Click on print and wait......
It's a very slow printing process so don't think it's not working - it will eventually.  If you have another email account you can go back in and do it again and get another $2 coupon.

So the deal is this:
Buy 2 (it's a BOGO)
Use 1 $2/2 coupon you just printed.
OOP = $4.99 for 2 bags - $2.50 each - 64% savings!

Once you start getting more coupons collected and organized you will see a lot more deals you can take advantage of.  I just wanted to post a few things that you could just click and print the coupons and work a few deals this coming week.

Remember these are deals starting on Thursday, July 21st.  You can always email me or post a comment to ask questions.  I'm here to help you.

Until later, Happy Shopping!

First Coupon 101 Workshop

Thanks so much to everyone who attended my workshop last night.  I know it was a lot to take in - especially if you're new to coupon shopping.  Don't get bogged down in all the details - just start collecting those coupons, as many as you get your hands on, and get them organized with a system that's right for you!

The main point of organizing the coupons is for you to be able to get your hands on the coupons you need when you need them.  If you can think of a different way that makes more sense to you - I went over two systems last night - then that's the right way for you to organize them.

If you left last night without giving me your email, please make sure I get it, and that way you will be sent an email when I post on my blog.  I just want to make sure you can keep getting the help you need so you can go into the stores and save a lot of money.  This really works!!!  It does take work, time, and organization to do this - but the savings are worth it.

If you have any questions at all, post a comment at the bottom of the blog and I will answer with a comment so everyone will benefit - someone else may have the same question you have.

I will be posting some easy deals for you to do later today.  I will keep it short and simple with complete instructions to make it work.  Give it a try and see how fun it is to shop the savvy coupon way.

For those of you who were already receiving the paper before last night, if you want to add another Sunday paper to what you're already receiving, you can do that through Chris.  That way you won't have to pay full price at the store to get your second paper.  I think we failed to bring that up last night.  I will have a direct link to him in a couple of days, but right now just let me know and I will have him get with you by phone.  Please don't put any personal information on the blog, just send me a message and I will get back with you.

Thanks again for attending last night.  I'm sure we will be doing this again soon.  This is a journey, a wild trip, but we will get there one coupon at a time, one deal at a time, together.

Until next time, happy shopping!
Vicki

Let's Get Started... July 2011

Welcome to "Be Coupon Savy"
After about a year-and-a-half of couponing, I've decided to start a blog.  Here among these pages I will share with you the best deals that I intend to purchase each week.  I will then share with you my results with pictures of my buys along with my receipts.
Remember, there is no way you can take advantage of every deal every week, so take a deep breath and just let it go.  When I started I drove myself crazy trying to get all the deals. If you miss a deal this week, it will return again, I promise.

One of the first things I would like for you to do is go to a favorite coupon site that I frequent almost daily - www.thekrazycouponlady.com.  Read the entire section under beginners - make sure you read the 10 days to become a krazy coupon lady.  This information is a must read!  She talks about everything from cutting coupons, organizing your coupons, and so much more.

Get ready for a great ride.  It's a lot of work - but it's a lot of fun.  When you experience walking out of a store and they have actually given you cash back, you didn't have to pay a cent for anything,  you will be hooked.  Your food budget will go a lot further and you will be so proud of what you were able to accomplish.

We'll do this together - one coupon at a time!

It's a great day to shop!
