New Week, New Deals!

Love all the stories I've been hearing about finding deals and enjoying the hunt.  Keep it up.  The more you do the better you'll get at working the deals.  Be careful - it can become addictive!  Have fun with it and enjoy the rewards of your work.

Just read that it has been confirmed that "Walmart" is doing a pilot program of doubling coupons - it's only in a few states.  I hope this is a sign of great things to come.  Here are a couple of links to read about it - they both have a different view on what doubling a coupon is.  Whatever it is I would accept it here in Jacksonville!

I hope to do another class soon so you can all move to the next level of couponing.  Shopping at Walgreen's and CVS is where you are going to find your best deals on all your personal items like toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, deodorant,  shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, cleaning supplies, and many other things.  There are some things you have to know - or figure out the system - when shopping at these two stores and I want to show you how.  I hope to get a date soon for the next class and I will let you know as soon as I can.

I'm passing along some deals I think are worth working this week.  I get so many emails from tons of websites - these deals are ones passed to me from those sites so I have not worked them myself, but plan on working them this week.  Good luck - happy hunting.

Please leave a comment about your great deals this week so we can share it with others.  If you find a deal that's not listed - there are tons of them out there - let us know so we can share it on the blog.

My Publix & Walgreen's Deals

I've been hearing some fantastic reports of great deals from a lot of new "Savy" shoppers.  I'm so proud of all of you.  You're just discovering a new way of shopping - and it is addictive - and paying full retail will not even be in your vocabulary again.  Keep it up.  Way to go!

I want to share a couple of deals I did on Sunday evening and Monday.  I had a few coupons expiring 7/31st and when I saw this deal I headed to the store.

Publix had Crest - the 8.2 size was included - on sale 2 for $5 - this was in their green flyer - if you buy 3 you would get a $5 Publix gift card back.  We had .75/1 MQ (manufacturer coupon).  This is how it went:  3 Crest was $7.50 - after the MQ it was $5.25 for 3 - they gave me $5 Publix gift card = .25 for 3 = .08 cents each.  I bought 9 and paid OOP $15.75 and got $15 in gift cards back.  That's a good day in my book.  I usually get all our toothpaste FREE but I couldn't pass this deal up.

While at Publix I picked up 8 Scotch Scissors that were BOGO $1.99 - had 8 MQ for $1/1 = 8 FREE plus .08 overage!  Another item that will go to our Sunday School Department.

Monday I went to Office Max and did well too.  This is what I got and the prices - ours will go to the church because I'm sure all those crayons will come in handy in our Sunday School classes.

2 12″ wooded ruler with metal edge — $0.01 each
       2 Schoolio crayons, 24 pack — $0.01 each
       2 Dixon #2 pencils, 10 pack — $0.10 each
       4 Schoolio composition books, 100 sheets — $0.50 each
Total with tax: $2.40 with tax:

Today I went to Walgreen's they had Coffee Mate on sale 2/$3.  There is a WQ (Walgreen's coupon) in Wags August coupon book - pick these up in the front of the store - and I had a $1/3 MQ.  Here is how my deal went:

Bought 6 Coffee Mate = $9.00
Used 3 $1/3 MQ made it $6.00
Used 3 $1/1 WQ made it $3.00
Used $2 RR (Register Reward from a previous purchase) made it $1.00 for 6 = .17 cents each.  That's another great deal.

Here is a great site for some really good coupons. Be sure to print the Bic coupon for free pens this week .  Remember to hit the back arrow key to get your second coupon.

Be sure to look for those blinkies, peelies, and tearpads in Publix this week.  Please let me know what you're doing.  I would love to hear some comments from you.  Go over and sign up to be a follower - I would love to know somebody is out there reading what I'm posting.

Until later,
Happy "Savy" Shopping!

Shopping Trip at Office Max

Hope you've all had a great shopping trip or two this past week.  As for me - I was able to run into Publix and pick up one item for supper - remember I told you not to do that at the coupon workshop - I'm bad!  Now that I'm "retired" I really don't know how I found the time to work a real job.  Seriously, where does the time go?  I also paid full price for my item today - hate that!

Sunday's Paper inserts should include 1 P&G, 1 SmartSource and 2 Red Plum booklets!  If you buy your papers at a store make sure all your coupon inserts are in there before you leave.  You will be glad you checked, believe me.

I was able to "steal" a deal at Office Max today.  I've been trying to get up there for the past three days and had to go today because it was the last day of the sale.  I picked up 6 packs of 100 sheets of filler paper which was .20 cents each and also BOGO!  600 sheets of paper for .60 cents.  Also I picked up 5 spiral notebooks for .20 cents each and 2 packs of pens at .20 cents each.  Total including tax was $2.46!!!

Be on the lookout for this flyer - should be in our SmartSource insert tomorrow:

Healthy Choice and Orville Redenbacher’s Publix Store Coupons in Sunday’s (7/31) SS Insert

The coupon sheet also references a store display that we should find at our Publix locations.  The display will have a “rebate” form where when we buy $30.00 in Publix groceries in one shopping trip with $15.00 in participating ConAgra Foods brands, we will receive a FREE $10.00 Publix or Amazon.com gift card!

Here is an easy no fuss deal at Walgreen's just to get your feet wet - some of you may need this for your kids school supply list.  Don't worry about any rules or regulations on this one - just go early in the week to make sure they're not all gone - this will go fast I'm sure.

While you're in Walgreens be sure to pick up their August Coupon Books - get at least two if not more.

FREE Crayola Washable Markers @Walgreens (Starts 7/31)

Jul 30, 2011 01:15 pm

Starting on 7/31 Walgreens will have Crayola Washable Markers for $2 with a $2 Register Reward making them FREE after Register Rewards!

Crayola Washable Markers, $2
Buy 1, Get $2 in Register Rewards
FREE after Coupon!

You will pay $2 plus tax OOP but get a $2 RR back after paying = FREE. Now for fun - if you go Sunday/Monday - buy another Sunday paper with the $2 RR and you've got more COUPONS! Just an idea! You can do this deal over and over if you want - you just have to do them in separate transactions.

Okay, let's do one more deal while you're there.

Coffee Mate Liquid, 16 oz $1.50
Use 2 $0.55/1 – Coffee Mate Liquid or Powder – (coffee-mate.com)

Or $0.75/2 – Coffee Mate Liquid or Powder – (coffee-mate.com)
And Use $1.00/2 Coffee-mate, 16 oz from Walgreens August Booklet.

Final Price:  As low as $0.45 each when you buy 2

Remember the $2 RR you received in the first deal -- try this:
Buy 4 Coffee Mates and use 4 of the .55/1 coupons that you print from the link above - use two different printers - and use 2 of the $1/2 Walgreens August coupons (need 2 books) = $1.80 cents for 4 - grab a filler item (find a cheap school supply item) - pay with your $2 RRs and your Coffee Mate should be FREE!!

That should give you just a taste of what waits for you at Walgreen's - we will do another class very soon just on shopping at Walgreen's and CVS.  I will let you know when that class will be as soon as I set a date.  You don't want to miss this class!

Well, that's enough from me for one week.  Hope you're enjoying my posts.  I've got more things planned for this blog as time goes on.  Please go to my blog and sign up as a follower.   I need to know I'm not just talking to myself on these pages.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Until later,
Happy Shopping

Four Coupon Inserts in Sunday's Paper, July 31st, 2011

Hope you've had a good week shopping and finding those great deals.  I still haven't made it to the grocery store this week - once again I will have to go on Saturday - why do I do this to myself?

Be sure to get your two papers this Sunday - 4 inserts this week:  1 SmartSource, 1 RedPlum, and 2 Proctor and Gamble.  If you purchase them in a store, check them before you leave to make sure all the inserts are in there - it's very frustrating to get all the way home only to find all your inserts are gone - believe me, I've experienced this many times.  If you need to get your discounted papers, let me know and I can get you connected to Chris.

Don't Stop Collecting Those Coupons!

After a short weekend away without Internet access - wow, what did we ever do without it - I am back with more deals for you.

First, don't stop collecting all the coupons you can get your hands on.  The last couple of weeks have been slim pickings, as far as I'm concerned, when it comes to the deals in the stores.  However, there are still some good deals around this week.

If you received your redplum.com in the mail today, there is a $5 off your purchase of $30 or more coupon on the back of "Back To School Sale" small booklet from Publix - there is also a large booklet from Publix called Family Style.  When you are checking out be sure to use the $5 off $30 coupon first before you hand all your coupons to the cashier.  These coupons don't come all the time but when they do we love them.

For the new couponers go to http://www.redplum.com/CouponBook.aspx to sign up for this mailer.  This is not the same as the RedPlum you get in your Sunday papers, but sometimes it has some good stuff for us.  You will receive it once a week, I usually get them on Tuesdays.

The deals I'm passing along to you today are taken from various websites I frequent.

Hopefully you can get this deal this week at Walgreens.  This post from another site says you can get the Gain powder also - so look carefully and don't be afraid to ask an employee to do a price check to make sure.  I'm not sure what date you started getting your papers, but maybe you'll have the coupon that goes with this sale:

You can grab a GREAT deal on Gain at Walgreens this week! The Gain Original powder 40 load is included in the $4.99 sale. I know the ad just shows the liquid however the powder is ringing up $4.99 and some stores have signs. If your store has no signs up, have them do a price check for you. You can then use the $2/1 coupon to grab these for $2.99 each.

If you got the Trident Gum coupons in your insert you can get an awesome deal on the Trident Vitality at Walgreens! These were tagged as $.79 each thru 7/30 at my store. If you find the same price at your store you can grab them for just $.12 each!

***DEAL IDEA***

Always be on the lookout for CLEARANCE sales!  You can get items for just pennies if not free.  What is on clearance at one store may not be on clearance at another store.  This is one of those YMMV things (your mileage may vary).  This next deal includes links to Glade coupons you can print.  Good Luck!

$1/1 Glade Plugins Scented Oil twin refill or 2 Single Refills

Total = $3.38
-75¢/2 Glade 4oz Jar Candles

If you go to www.iheartpublix.com you can see a sneak peek at next week's sales.  That gives you time to plan your shopping trip and get your coupons matched up to the BOGOs.

Please leave a comment and let me know how you are doing on your shopping trips.  I've heard some great stories over the past couple of days from some of you and I would love for you to share them on the blog.

Also I'm out there looking for deals all the time, so if you find a great sale be sure to pass it along to the group.  Until later........

Happy Shopping!

One Of My Favorite Sites

I've received a lot of positive feedback about the coupon workshop, and I'm so glad that you enjoyed it and you're beginning to work on collecting your coupons and getting them organized so they will begin to work for you.  This really becomes a hobby that pays off big time.

I wanted to share with you a favorite site that I frequent and I know once you understand how Target works you will like it too.  You can stack a Target store coupon with a manufacturer coupon at Target just like Publix - they do not take competitors coupons.  You can make overages at Target but they won't give you cash back, so if your coupon value is higher than the item you're purchasing you want to purchase something else with that overage.  You will catch on to this as time goes on - this is a learning process and you will get better each time you shop.

Now on to the site - www.totallytarget.com.  Go check it out and click all the buttons and you will be amazed at what you can save there.  One thing you have to really pay attention to is when you're checking out and you're giving them your coupons, give them to the cashier one at a time - sometimes they want them all up front - but as they're taking the coupons make sure your correct coupon amount shows up.  I do this even at Publix.  Most of the time everything works out good, but sometimes there is a glitch - just smile and be nice and they will treat you right.

To print Target coupons go to www.target.com and scroll down and you will see on the left side a shopping cart and it says coupon savings - click on that and it will take you to all the coupons.  Printing is easy and you normally can print them twice - but you have to click on the "back to coupons" button and go in and select the coupons you want to print again.  Sometimes you may not get to print twice and that's because they may only allow 1,000 prints for a certain coupon and if you're the 1000th person to print that coupon then when you go back to print it again it will have disappeared from the selections.  It took me a long time to figure that out, I thought I was doing something wrong.

One thing I want to bring to your attention off of today's posting at TotallyTarget is the coupon for $3/1 Glade Lasting Impression product.  When you click on the blue link it takes you to a site named Right at Home and asks you to sign up for the coupon.  Don't be afraid to sign up here - this is a site that sends you all kinds of things for signing up.  I've received free products, tons of coupons, free samples, etc.  You never know when they're coming, they just show up in the mail.  Sometimes it's coupons for free products.  So sign up and watch for goodies to start coming to you.  By the way, save the coupon - we normally have great sales and can get these starter kits almost free.  So print the coupons, hold on to them for the sales.  That's the way you play this game.

One more thing and I'll sign off for tonight.  There should be two coupon inserts in this Sunday's paper - SmartSource and RedPlum.  Hope you've got at least two papers coming for those BOGO sales!  Let me know if you still need discounted newspapers and I will have Chris get in touch with you.

Happy Shopping!
Vicki
